Right now my heart feels full. I feel relaxed. Or this headache has dulled my thinking.
3 reasons why:
1. I decided today that we need to take a trip home. So I picked out a weekend. And yes, it is going to be in the middle of my crazy season. But this makes me beyond happy. I haven't been home since last October. :/
2. Tomorrow = rest day. This makes me excited. And a little nervous.
3. Some mellow Benjamin Stockwell is floating through my speakers. It is like magnesium in music form.
Anyway, I can never leave you without something random. Or at the very least, not give you an image or two and a page-long blog post. ;)
I have thought about writing "dear body" letters. For a long time. And then I came across this on Pinterest a few days ago.
I'm thinking "Dear body, I just gave you bacon meatloaf. You're welcome." Yes? This is a good idea?
Does this ever happen to you? Sigh. This may or not have been the second time I did this. Consecutively.
Finally, remember this top? Yeah. Last Saturday was a scorcher. 90*. And I had a 100% outdoors wedding. Fortunately it was breezy. Anyway, I figured I would break it out again.
Note to self: apply sunscreen more than once. This is what I looked like on Sunday after the wedding...
Yeah. Ouch. Love that little purple splotch. If you were wondering, coconut oil is incredible for sunburns.
One thing that's not good for sunburns? Backsquats. ;)
And yes, I still have an amazing recipe to post for you. Italian meatballs. Someday soon. It's worth the wait, promise.

Note to self #4736
This one takes some explaining, or maybe justifying, if you will.
When Joel had his accident, I just wasn't hungry for the first time in my life. My stomach was always a little queasy and upset... so I "started" on Sierra Mist. Mmm hmm.
Well, he came home and things are getting back to normal... and I kept drinking my 1 soda a day.
And low and behold a few days ago, a stinkin' cavity, right in my lower right eye tooth!
Now, I'm very proud of the fact that Ihave had never had a cavity before. I brush twice a day, floss once a day, etc. Never a cavity. Nada. None.
Sigh.
So my note to self:
Don't try to compete with Joel's soda habits.
And ps, anyone know of a good cheap dentist in the area?

Pee before coming home.
Do not, in any circumstances, let yourself pee before the dog pees when you arrive home.
Do not, in any circumstances, let the dog walk around on the rug-free floor in the bathroom while you're, you know...
Ps. Don't take your time doing your thing in a bathroom with motion-sensor lights. Sigh.

Bring allergy meds to convention. And get tested for asthma so I can have my own inhaler.
Convention was great. I'm talking absolutely wonderful-great. I am not. My asthma really got the best of me. My allergies got the best of me. And now I think I'm getting some type of lung infection/sore throat business from it all.
I sound like a man.
Sigh.
Any suggestions?
PS. My dearest hubby is home this week... glory be. I'm lovin it! :)

The edges of Parmesan block cheese are *not* edible.
It does not take equal parts of cream and Parmesan to make homemade alfredo sauce.
Double sick.

No more long blog posts.
Sigh. The drama of html formatting, pictures, and center/left align.
(But you know it will happen again.)

Future dog name: Turbo
(Just in case I'd forget, because I'm prone to doing that. And then Joel would laugh at me. Like he always does. :D)

Another note to self...
... about the coffee pot. That I just got out last night for our special meeting company. That I hadn't used since I recieved it as a graduation gift...
So, here goes. Do not (got it? NOT) open the lid while its brewing. Hmmm... letsee, is this working? NO. Don't do it.
Ouch. Steam burn.
Ahh... Can you smell that? That's the smell of my stupidity... It's wafting across blogger.com right now..

Note to self....
... don't put more toilet paper on the roll while sitting on the toilet.
Why?
Because the toilet paper could miss the slot, the rod could spring across the room, and the toilet paper could roll just out of reach.
You know where I'm going with this... :)

Hairy Mess..
If Joel and I had dark hair, our bathroom would be cleaned at least 5x a week...
gross.
Note to self:
Be thankful for a non-shedding husband (he never even sheds his blondies)... and be even more grateful we're both blonde!

Groceries..
x For every minute spent in a grocery story, an average of $2 is spent.
x Grocery stores are really empty, and a lot can be accomplished at 7:30 in the morning.
x Never spend a considerable amount of time in a grocery store again for a while...
x Also, early grocery shopping gives a wonderful start to the day!
Please note: the random sampling of population at the local Hy-Vee consisted of one, but very important customer. This was a fair data sample, and no animals were harmed in this study.

Mmmm...
Note to self:
All other things equal, when a college kid (or young married couple)'s cupboards/refrigerators are full, the bank account is empty and vice versa.
Ugh. So in-depth grocery shopping was a blast. But even though I stuck strictly to my list, I still overspent. I'm ready for Joel to work a little more so we get a little more than $25/paycheck, like this week.
Anyway, since he's off snowmobiling for the weekend and having fun, I'm going to blow off vacuuming and balancing the bank statements to read a book and enjoy a nice cold glass of chocolate milk, both of which I haven't done since high school.

study study Camera study study study study Canon..
Mmmm... so its late, and I'm still studying (and not concentrating obviously). Darn Photo Journalism, I can't wait to be done with that class.
But earlier tonight I hung out with Lisa at Perkins for a bit and even before that, I ordered that Canon SD880 IS. And I'm groovin' to a Norah Jones song. And eating chocolate chips. Life's good.
Note to self: "Free shipping," "On sale," and "Free 1GB card" from BestBuy.com actually means you'll pay 3x as much sales tax even though its online. Go figure.

Rose food

So a while ago, Joel brought me a rose on his way home from grabbing something at the grocery store... it was beautiful, romantic, etc. blah blah
Note to self: Too much rose food preserves and mummifies roses. The rose literally lasted a month and then dried up nice and pretty with all its color and shape... none of that wilted nasty dried rose-ness.
